Apply for a scholarshipShasta Regional Community Foundation manages many scholarship funds that are awarded to graduating seniors from area high schools each year. Many of these scholarships are also renewable for college students. Some scholarships were started by families or individuals; others by businesses or organizations. All scholarships share one goal: helping young people reach their educational goals. Do you want to invest in our community's future? Contact us to learn about education funds and scholarship funds. Our scholarship programsIvy B. Horr Medical Education Loan FundThe Ivy B. Horr Endowed Medical Education Loan Fund was established by the late Mrs. Horr, a resident of Eastern Shasta County, from a portion of her estate. Loans up to $10,000 are made available to students in Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, Modoc, Trinity, or Siskiyou counties who are engaged in the study of medicine or in medical training at a college or university.
Andy Allison Memorial ScholarshipThe scholarship benefits a male and female senior athlete at Enterprise High who will be attending Shasta College in the fall. Deadline April 14, 2010 FWF '62 ScholarshipThe scholarship benefits a graduating Shasta High School female. Deadline April 14, 2010 William Garcia ScholarshipThe scholarship benefits a high school athlete who participated in tennis. Deadline April 14, 2010 Kohn Family ScholarshipThe scholarship benefits a graduating Shasta High School athlete who will be attending a four-year university in the fall. It is renewable up to four years. Deadline March 17, 2010 Opportunity ScholarshipThis scholarship is funded by College Access Foundation of California and was established to support students with financial need and great potential. Awards are up to $10,000 for four years of college. Deadline March 31, 2010 Jutta B. Spruce, Redding Legal Professionals Association ScholarshipThe scholarship benefits individuals in Shasta and Tehama counties embarking on a legal career, but not seeking to become a member of the bar. Deadline April 14, 2010 The Shasta Natural Science ScholarshipThe scholarship benefits a Shasta County High School female senior or a female student transferring from Shasta College who will be attending, on a full-time basis, an accredited four-year college or university. Deadline March 17, 2010 Women in Medicine ScholarshipThe scholarship was established to support Shasta County young women planning a career in pediatrics, family medicine, dentistry, as a family nurse practitioner or physicians assistant. High school seniors and college students from Shasta County are encouraged to apply. Deadline April 14, 2010 Northern Business Associates ScholarshipThis scholarship benefits graduating seniors in Shasta County who will be attending college in Shasta County (e.g., Shasta College, Simpson University, National University). Deadline: March 17, 2010 Jim Cusick Memorial ScholarshipThe scholarship benefits a Weed High School athlete. See Weed High School for further information. No application is available at this time. California Retired Teachers Association, Division 16 ScholarshipThe scholarship will benefit a Shasta College student who is planning on entering a career in education. No application is available at this time. Matt Solus Memorial ScholarshipThe scholarship benefits Siskiyou County high school seniors or junior college students interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement or fire science.
