Jennifer Powell and Jill Harris Join Staff at SRCFOct 4, 2012 PRESS RELEASE October 4, 2012 Contact: Kerry Caranci, Sr. Program and Operations Officer, Kerry@shastarcf.org, 244-1219 x102 Jennifer Powell, of Redding, will be joining the Shasta Regional Community Foundation on October 8th as its Development and Program Officer. Jennifer will be carrying out a broad spectrum of staff assignments that will help the Foundation grow its endowment. She will also be responsible for the Foundation’s scholarship programs, its Ivy B. Horr Medical Education Fund, Leadership Redding, Redding Affordable Housing Loan Fund, National Standards Confirmation as well as grant-making support. Jennifer comes to the Foundation with over 7 years’ experience as a Senior Development Officer with an area nonprofit as well as significant experience working with professional advisors from throughout the region. Jennifer was a long term board member for the Shasta Land Trust and is currently the race director for the Whiskeytown Chaser. Jennifer has been very active as a volunteer in the nonprofit community and is a member of Redding East Rotary. Jill Harris of Yreka will be joining the Foundation on October 16th as its Development and Communications Associate. Jill will be leading the Foundation’s development efforts in Siskiyou County. She will also be responsible for the Foundation’s communications efforts that include all publications, marketing and media relations. Jill’s experience includes her recent work with the Siskiyou County Economic Development Council as a program manager. Primary projects included tourism, farmers markets and promotion and education of the Siskiyou Enterprise Zone. Prior to that, Jill served as the Executive Director of the Yreka Chamber of Commerce. She served on the Siskiyou Family YMCA board for six years and is a member of Yreka Rotary. Jill recently helped form the Jefferson Mountain Biking Association a local chapter of IMBA. She is an avid skier, mountain biker and advocate for promoting cycling tourism in Siskiyou County. Jill’s knowledge of Siskiyou County and its community leaders and businesses will be important to her networking, outreach and fund development efforts on behalf of the Foundation. Jill lives in Yreka with her husband Chris and two daughters Jayne and Nora.
