$74,500 in Scholarship AvailableFeb 8, 2010 The Shasta Regional Community Foundation is pleased to offer twenty-four scholarships to students in Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity Counties for a total of $74,500. • Kohn Family Scholarship: Deadline, March 17, 2010. One, $2,000 scholarship, renewable for up to a total of 4 years for a total of $8,000, awarded to a graduating senior from Shasta High School that participated in high school athletics. • Shasta Natural Science Scholarship: Deadline, March 17, 2010. One, $500 scholarship awarded to a Shasta County High School female senior or a female student transferring from Shasta College who will be attending an accredited 4 year college or university. • Northern Business Associates Scholarship: Deadline March 17, 2010. Four, $500 scholarships awarded to graduating seniors in Shasta County who will be attending a college or university in Shasta County in the fall (e.g. Shasta College, Simpson University, National University). • Opportunity Scholarship: Deadline March 31, 2010. At least three scholarships, up to $10,000, will be awarded to graduating seniors from Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity Counties. The students must have attended a Cash for College Workshop and plan to attend a four-year college or university in the fall. • FWF’62 Scholarship: Deadline, April 14, 2010. One, $500 scholarship awarded to a female student at Shasta High School who will be attending a trade school or a two or four-year college. • Andy Allison Scholarship: Deadline April 14, 2010. Two, $1,000 scholarships awarded to a male and female student at Enterprise High School who participated in high school sports and plan to attend Shasta College. • William Garcia Scholarship: Deadline April 14, 2010. One, $1,000 scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Shasta County that participated in high school tennis. • Redding Legal Professionals, Jutta B. Spruce Scholarship: Deadline, April 14, 2010. One, $500 scholarship awarded to a Shasta or Tehama County high school senior, college student or reentry student who plans to pursue a career in the legal field (not intended for students planning to enter law school). • Women in Medicine Scholarship: Deadline, April 22, 2010. Ten, $3,000 scholarships awarded to female Shasta County graduating seniors and female students enrolled in a four-year university who graduated from a Shasta County High School. They must be planning a career in: Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Dentistry, Family Nursing or Physicians Assisting. Applications may be downloaded or picked up from high school counselors.
