Kathy Ann Anderson, Chief Executive Officer

Kathy is the CEO and Board member for the Community Foundation. She is responsible for Foundation operations and working with donors to establish funds to serve the communities in Shasta and Siskiyou counties.

Kathy is a Founder of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation. Prior to this, she was Founder and Executive Director of the Grant and Resource Center of Northern California. She has dedicated her career to the nonprofit sector for over 35 years. She is the Vice Chair of the League of California Community Foundations and is a member of the Rotary Club of Redding.

Kathy has a master’s degree in philanthropy and development from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree from Simpson University. A native Californian, Kathy has lived in Redding for 34 years with her family.

Lisa Nixon, Administrative Assistant

As Administrative Assistant, Lisa provides full administrative support to the foundation board, committees and staff. She is responsible for keeping the front office of the Community Foundation running smoothly and on schedule.


Lisa recently joined Shasta Regional Community Foundation in 2010. Prior to this, Lisa’s work has ranged from manicurist, banking and owning and operating a small business. She has served on the board of the Valley Community Club and is an active volunteer for junior and high school rodeos.


Lisa is a Siskiyou County native. Today she keeps busy hauling her son, horses and dog to junior and high school rodeos all around the region. In her very spare time, Lisa enjoys caring for and riding her horses, camping and appreciating all of the beautiful outdoor opportunities the North State has to offer.

Raiann Hodge, C.P.A., Financial Officer

As Financial Officer, Raiann is responsible for fiscal oversight, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and accounting for Shasta Regional Community Foundation’s $10.5 million in assets.


Raiann joined Shasta Regional Community Foundation in 2006 as a consultant CPA with over 15 years in the non-profit sector contracting with various organizations throughout the north state community. She is a Leadership Redding graduate and feels very fortunate to be involved with the non profits and the philanthropy they provide to our community.


Raiann received her bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting from California State University, Chico and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant by the state of California. Raiann is a native to the north state and has lived with her family in Redding for over 20 years.

Kerry Caranci, Program Officer & Finance Assistant

As Program Officer, Kerry serves as the coordinator for the foundation loan programs; Ivy B. Horr Endowed Medical Education Loan Fund and Redding Affordable Housing Loan Fund. She is also responsible for grant programs for The Burney Regional Community Fund and The Women’s Fund. Kerry serves as the foundation’s liaison to Leadership Redding and The Women’s Fund programs.

Kerry joined Shasta Regional Community Foundation in 2006 after working at Simpson University in 2005. Prior to moving to Redding, she worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Kerry is a Leadership Redding graduate and takes pride in her role in community philanthropy.

Kerry received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Puget Sound, and she is also an alumnus of the Temple Rome study abroad program. Though an Oregon native, Kerry enjoys living in Redding with her husband Michael and son Mitchell. They enjoy fly fishing, bocce ball, spending time in beautiful places, and traveling the globe whenever they can.

Juliette Read, Program & Communications Officer

As Program and Communications Officer, Juliette is responsible for marketing, public relations and communications for the Community Foundation. Additionally, she manages some of the grant programs and all the scholarship programs for the Foundation. Currently, Juliette is responsible for the Articipate Campaign, an initiative to raise an endowment for the arts in Shasta and Siskiyou counties.


Juliette joined Shasta Regional Community Foundation in 2005. Prior to this, she was a Great Valley Fellow with the Great Valley Center in Modesto, CA. She was a founding Board Member for Girls Incorporated of the Northern Sacramento Valley, is a Leadership Redding alum, and is an active member in her church, The Stirring.


Juliette is a Redding native and graduate of Simpson University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science. Today Juliette and her husband, Nathan, are raising their sweet and precocious daughter and looking forward to the addition of a second little girl.

Beth Freeman, Director of Community Programs

As program staff, Beth is responsible for grantmaking and other program initiatives throughout Shasta and Siskiyou counties; and, sometimes further afield in response to donors’ priorities.


Beth joined Shasta Regional Community Foundation in 2001. Prior to this, she worked with nonprofit organizations and as a private consultant in Seattle, Miami, Washington, D.C., Sacramento, and Mt. Shasta; involved at program, policy, and management levels. Her work focus has ranged from youth to elders, health care to land use planning; from women to the environment, to the arts.


Beth holds a master’s degree in communication from California State University Sacramento and a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University. She lives in Mt. Shasta where she moved with her husband who is native to the community.
