The Redding City Identity Project is a collaborative, city-wide initiative to catalyze a better city: it will strengthen our city’s image and reputation by initiating 20 ideas by the year 2020.

The Redding City Identity Project has conducted over 130 private meetings, 150+ community members participated in a total of 3 community workshops, 2,440 residents brought their voice through participating in a city wide survey and over 700 individual ideas have been submitted to the project. The Project also engaged consultancy firm, Development Counsellors International, to bring their expertise from assisting over 450 cities and countries around the world.

The first 10 Ideas are: Umbrella Alley, Local Business Passport, Improve Redding’s Online Reputation, A Downtown Mural, Itineraries By Locals, Live Street Music, Digital Ambassadors (Positive Word of Mouth), Riverfront Amphitheater Improvement & Programming, City Messaging Campaign, and Repurpose Local Historic Signs into Public Art.

The Identity Project was endorsed by proclamations of support from the City of Redding and the County of Shasta.

A special thanks to our generous community who has already contributed towards this initiative: Visit Redding, The McConnell Foundation, Sierra Pacific Foundation, Redding Rancheria, Dignity Health, Shasta Regional Medical Center, InterWest Insurance, RE/MAX Town & Country - Josh Barker, Five Star Bank, M.D. Imaging, Hess Property Holdings, Jesse Eline Real Estate Team, Commerce Home Mortgage, D.H. Scott & Company, Roseville Chamber of Commerce, Miner Charitable Family Fund and Black Bear Diner.

As a community, we have the capacity to build a bright future together. There is an incredible amount of momentum to improve the quality of life for Redding's citizens through this project.

The Redding City Identity Project is being led by the Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce and its 501(c3) nonprofit the Forward Redding Foundation who established this community fund to support ideas being successfully implemented to catalyze the future of Redding. Please join us with your generous contribution to improve the City of Redding.
