Pacific Power Foundation Grant Supports North State Giving Tuesday Event
The Pacific Power Foundation has awarded $3,500 to Shasta Regional Community Foundation in support of their web portal hosting of North State Giving Tuesday on November 28, 2017. This funding helps support the establishment of the new website platform powered by CiviCore, a nationally recognized and proven resource for successful online giving days such as this one, hosted by the Community Foundation.
“We’re proud to support organizations that offer opportunities to empower other nonprofits to raise much needed unrestricted funding,” said Monte Mendenhall, Pacific Power regional community manager. “The proven success of the Community Foundation’s organizational efforts for the one-day online giving campaign held each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving helps us see the far-reaching return on this grant investment.”
North State Giving Tuesday is an online networking and giving event that provides registered nonprofit organizations in Siskiyou and Shasta counties the opportunity to gain exposure and start relationships with new donors, and for people to come together to raise as much money as possible for participating organizations within a 14 -hour period. The effort is organized and implemented by Shasta Regional Community Foundation with sponsorship provided by Redding Bank of Commerce, the Community Foundation and Pacific Power Foundation. The online event takes place on Tuesday, November 28th from 6:00 AM PST to 8:00 PM PST at www.northstategives.org.
“The $3,500 grant to Shasta Regional Community Foundation makes new features possible in this and future year’s online giving experience,” says Amanda Hutchings, Program Officer. “As an example, donors will have the option of scheduling their donations to their favorite nonprofits at www.northstategives.org in advance, beginning November 14, 2017. These donations will be debited from accounts on November 28th and count toward the incentive pool totals for participating organizations.”
Nonprofit organizations are eligible for a percentage of the $85,000 incentive pool provided by the Knodel Family Endowment Fund of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation based on the amount they raise online during the November 28th event. Additionally, fourteen local businesses will be offering $500 to two lucky nonprofits randomly drawn each hour during the event. Follow the excitement at #NorthStateGivingTuesday.
